The Islamic Society at Deutsche Bank have been fundraising for Save an Orphan which culminated in a charity dinner at the Qasida Restaurant in Whitechapel, London. In total they raised a fantastic £3150 which will go towards the orphanage building project in Comilla, Bangladesh.
The event was hosted by Sultan Ali of Deutsche Bank. Guest speaker Myriam Francois-Cerrah gave a passionate talk about orphans in Islam and her time at the Send A Little Hope Orphanage in Dokkin Rompur. She was able to give a first hand account of the desperation and vulnerability of the orphans living at the orphanage who have to live in the most atrocious conditions.
Saif Adam was on hand with some beautifully uplifting nasheeds which ended a great night. A massive thank you to all the members of Deutsche Bank ISOC for organising the event, Rooful Ali, of aliway.co.uk photography, for giving us his time photographing the event and everyone else involved in putting together this memorable evening, thank you.
All funds raised will go towards the building project which is in the second stage of development.
