The host for the evening was Na'eem Raza who also conducted the fundraising.  Na'eem set the mood for what was to be a fantastic night.

The artists Maher Zain (Sweden), Mesut Kurtis (Macedonia), Hamza Namira (Egypt), Irfan Makki (Canada) and Raef (USA) all played wonderful sets. The surprise performance of the night was Hamza Namira, his performance elated the audience with his spiritual and uplifting music.

Na'eem's job at fundraising was made easy by the overwhelmingly generous audience who pledged in record numbers to achieve an awe inspiring total of £175,000.

Maher Zain was received by rapturous applause and our guests were not disappointed. He performed a complete set without a break, singing tracks from his new album as well as previous favourites.

A special video message from Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London was broadcast on the video screen. Our exclusive documentary featuring Myriam Francois Cerrah showed the hardship encountered by the orphans of Bangladesh.

"It was a monumental concert and the audience's generosity was truly inspiring, and to know that every single person reached out to change an orphans life made the hard work all worth while" said Save An Orphan Founder and Managing Director, Wali-ur Rahman.

We would like to sincerely thank Awakening Live and all the artists for a wonderful concert, Na'eem Raza for his unwavering commitment to Save An Orphan, to Sheikh Abdur Rahman Helbawi, Nadim Hussain and Zubair Shaikh for their great efforts, and to all the musicians who travelled so far to perform at this blessed concert.

A very big thank you must go to all the volunteers who gave us their valuable time and effort to make this event a reality and finally to all the donors who pledged such generously. Your money will change the lives of countless orphans.
